The cat in the stacks, looking fur who knows what

wildbill4.jpgThe bookshop cat, Wild Bill, AKA Wild Billy, was named for the General, Buffalonya's own William Donovan, who created the Office of Strategic Services during World War II (first among TLAs).

Wild Bill the Cat bears the General's nickname because of the contrast, one to the other.

The man was bold, the cat is asleep.

Don't wake him.

It never works out well.

Wild Bill is his own catman and likes to assert that whenever necessary.

And even when it isn't.

Wild Bill is a favorite of most persons who frequent the bookshop, however, because they expect a cat to be aloof, and our Billy does not disappoint.

Just don't turn your back. He loves to jump onto them (backs, that is).

This may account for why most patrons keep their coats on, in winter, and look vaguely anxious in other seasons.

Above, original drawing and calligraphy done for the Bros Grim by Tommy -- loyal and, for all we know, sole reader of the serial series Grimoire: The Bros Grim Breakfast Serial. Thank you, Tommy. Your taste is not just a sensation!
